Try Sleepaway Camp

One and Two Week Sessions

In cooperation with JCCs from NY, NJ, PA, CT & FL, Camp MountainTop serves groups of children affiliated with these agencies for one or two weeks sessions.  In some cases, registration in a particular JCCs day camp is required for inclusion in the CMT program.

At Camp MountainTop we provide campers with a safe and comfortable environment in which they can build self-esteem, conquer their fears, and truly reach new heights. Through a varied program campers are exposed to a wide range of activities that are led and supervised by adult educators. Campers gain confidence over the short period of their stay at CMT, as they adjust to the group experience and develop their socialization skills through interaction in the bunk.

Already in operation for several years, Camp MountainTop is now officially one of 6 childrens camps offered by the New Jersey Y Camps. During past summers hundreds of CMT campers have been introduced to all of the excitement and personal growth that sleepaway camp has to offer.  Many of them, successfully nurtured through this short-term program, have graduated to 4 or 8 weeks at Camp Nah Jee Wah, Cedar Lake Camp, or other camps.

Staff is selected for their maturity, sensitivity and experience working with children. They attend an extensive orientation which thoroughly prepares them for the challenging task of living with children who all have particular needs.

Camp MountainTop provides a taste of the wonderful, sleepaway camp experience to groups of campers who attend the program under the cooperation of JCCs and Ys from the surrounding area.

Each of these centers oversees the registration process while designing a camp program in cooperation with Camp MountainTop staff that provides each group of campers with the most appropriate and enjoyable one or two weeks.  In some cases enrollment in the Centers day camp is required for attendance to their Camp Mountaintop program.

You can contact the Camp MountainTop Director, at (973) 575-3333 x112, via e-mail at CMT@NJYCAMPS.ORG or call your local JCCs camp director for more information on this exciting opportunity.
